Here’s a morning cup!
Served Up from AllTerra Technical Center (ATC)
Did you Know?
Crews finding their base radio not reaching far enough to get the last couple shots to finish out a job have some different options when they are maxed out on broadcast power. Raising the broadcast antenna helps increase range without increasing undue drain on batteries or when the radio is already broadcasting at the highest power selectable. Trimble says, ”Double the height of the broadcast antenna to increase the coverage by approximately 40 %. To achieve the same effect, it would be necessary to quadruple the radio broadcast power.” Second, use a repeater to rebroadcast the signal farther. You can use an extra radio or receiver as a repeater. Any receiver that has the transmit option for the uhf radio can be set up as a repeater. For additional reading you can find more info on page 428 of the Trimble Access General Survey User Guide HERE.
